Contacts in Case of Fraud, Loss or Stolen Checks and Cards

 

Multicaixa Cards (ATM Cards)

Observe all appropriate measures to ensure the safety of your card and its PIN, namely:

  • Do not allow the use of your card by third parties;
  • Do not share your PIN with third parties;
  • Memorize your PIN, do not write it down or have it together with your card.

If you neglect these precautions, you will be responsible for all the purchased products, even made by third parties.

Immediately report the bank that issued your Multicaixa card (ATM card) or VISA card, in case of loss, forgery or theft, unauthorized transactions in the account records statement or any errors or irregularities in the use of your Multicaixa card, as soon as becoming aware of it, according to the ways, means and deadlines specified in the subscription contract.

Alternatively, in case of loss, forgery or theft of your Multicaixa card, you can also contact EMIS – Empresa Interbancária de Serviços (Angola ATM managing company) – and ask for the inhibition of the card, through the Helpline (222 641 840/222 641 849).

Note that any expenses related to the inhibition of your card in these cases are of your responsibility.

In case of forgery or theft of your card, report the occurrence immediately to the police, and then you must submit a copy of the report or certificate to your bank.

Checkbook

In case of loss, forgery or checks theft, report immediately to your bank. As soon as it occurs, request the cancellation of the check in question if it is a blank check; have it revoked if the check in question had already been filled.

In cases of forgery or theft, you should also report it to the police, and then submit a copy or certificate to your bank for their participation.

Note that any costs of registration and control of the cancellation or revocation of stolen checks, either stolen or lost, are your responsibility and the bank will guarantee the rejection of these checks.
