The Angolan Payment System (SPA – Sistema de Pagamentos de Angola) is a structured set of payment instruments, processes and subsystems, regulates by the Central Bank, to ensure the circulation of money in the economy, as specified under the Law no. 5/2005, of July 29.
The SPA consists of the following subsystems:
Six Subsystems of Payments:
- Checks
- Credit transfers (electronically or by withdrawal ordens and credit documents)
- Remittance
- Direct Debit
- Payment cards (pre-paid, debit and credit cards)
- Mobile device
Six Subsystems of Payments:
- Payment System in Real Time (SPTR – Sistema de Pagamentos em Tempo Real)
- Asset Market Management System (SIGMA – Sistema de Gestão de Mercados de Activos)
- System Clearing and Settlement of Securities (SIMER – Sistema de Compensação e Liquidação de Valores Mobiliários)
- Subsystem Multicaixa (MCX – Sistema Multicaixa)
- Credit Transfers Subsystem (STC – Sistema de Transferência a Crédito)
- Check Clearing Subsystem (SCC – Sistema de Compensação de Cheques)
- Direct Debit subsystem (SDD – Sistema de Débitos Directos)
- Subsystem Mobile Payments of Angola (SPMA – Sistema de Pagamentos Móveis em Angola)
