Angolan Payment System

 

The Angolan Payment System (SPA – Sistema de Pagamentos de Angola) is a structured set of payment instruments, processes and subsystems, regulates by the Central Bank, to ensure the circulation of money in the economy, as specified under the Law no. 5/2005, of July 29.

The SPA consists of the following subsystems:

Six Subsystems of Payments:

  • Checks
  • Credit transfers (electronically or by withdrawal ordens and credit documents)
  • Remittance
  • Direct Debit
  • Payment cards (pre-paid, debit and credit cards)
  • Mobile device

Six Subsystems of Payments:

  • Payment System in Real Time (SPTR – Sistema de Pagamentos em Tempo Real)
  • Asset Market Management System (SIGMA – Sistema de Gestão de Mercados de Activos)
  • System Clearing and Settlement of Securities (SIMER – Sistema de Compensação e Liquidação de Valores Mobiliários)
  • Subsystem Multicaixa (MCX – Sistema Multicaixa)
  • Credit Transfers Subsystem (STC – Sistema de Transferência a Crédito)
  • Check Clearing Subsystem (SCC – Sistema de Compensação de Cheques)
  • Direct Debit subsystem (SDD – Sistema de Débitos Directos)
  • Subsystem Mobile Payments of Angola (SPMA – Sistema de Pagamentos Móveis em Angola)
