To open an account, the new client’s documentation is needed.

Documentation needed to open a private account:

• Account Opening Form, to be obtained in a branch of the bank;
• Copy of identification document(s) of all account owners;
• Identity Card, in the case of a national citizen;
• Passport with Working Visa, Residence Visa or Resident Card, in the case of a foreign citizen;
• Copy of fiscal card;
• 1 color photography of each account owner;
• Service Statement (optional);
• Statement of the Ministry of Finance (only required for government employees);
• Minimum amount for the initial deposit (values depend on each bank).

Documentation to open a business account:

• Account Opening Form, to be obtained in a branch of the bank;
• Company Letter requesting the opening of the account;
• Certificate of Commercial Registration, Statutes published in the Diário da República (Official Gazette - DR) and amendments, if any;
• Fiscal Card;
• Statistical Registration Certificate;
• Taxes clearance certificate and business license;
• Copies of the identification documents of company representatives;
• Powers of attorney containing the names of company representatives, if any;
• 1 color photograph of representative(s);
• Minimum amount for the initial deposit (values depend on each bank);
