ABANC e APB sign Agreement

Agreement aims to foster cooperation and collaboration between the two institutions that represent the banking sector in the respective countries.

Today was signed by the presidents of Angolan Bancs Association (ABANC) - Amílcar Azevedo da Silva – and the Portuguese Banks Association (APB) - Fernando Faria de Oliveira an agreement that aims to promote cooperation and collaboration between the two institutions representatives of the banking sector in the respective countries.

The agreement lays the foundation for deepening the relationship between the two institutions, through greater cooperation in key areas of the banking sector, both in terms of development and modernization, and its relationship with society, as well as improved preparedness for the challenges they face at national and international level.

The objective of this agreement is to achieve greater synergy and convergence in the areas of activity of the entities involved, in order to set mutually beneficial relationships developed with rigor and transparency and is conducive to mutual benefit in the development of its activities.
Both the APB as the ABANC has among its objectives:

  • To contribute to an improved economic, technical and social performance of the sector.
  • To contribute to a greater and better technical qualification of professionals in the sector.
  • To assume a central role in the debate on the amendments to the legislative and regulatory framework of the sector.
  • To assume a proactive role that translates in defining and assuming positions of principle on matters relating to the sector.
  • To contribute actively to the dissemination of information on the sector.
  • To contribute to a transparent and credible relationship between banks and the society.
  • To contribute to a better understanding of the importance of the financial and banking system in the economy.
  • To contribute to a better use of banking products and services.
  • To assume an active role in financial education of the society.

It is in these areas that the cooperation and collaboration between the two banking associations will be enhanced, through the exchange of information, experiences and advice, whenever it proves convenient.
